10 steps to managing an escort schedule

Just like professionals in other freelance careers, escorts have quite a bit of freedom as they establish their work schedules. They know they need to work a certain amount of time in order to earn enough income to cover their expenses and bills. However, it's not as simple as just knowing approximately how much time you need to work. It's a complex balancing act to create an efficient schedule that will consistently earn an escort enough income, but will also allow her the time off she desires on the days she's selected. Most escorts don't simply pick a few days they wish to work and establish their work schedules based on that. They develop a realistic work routine that meets the demands of clients, but also provides them with time for themselves or their families. To create your own effective schedule, follow these 10 steps:
  1. Establish a client list. An escort who hasn't created a strong following of clients isn't going to be able to pick and choose when she works. If you don't already have an established client list, you should resign yourself to working whenever clients are available. By accepting encounters at all times, you may obtain clients that you would have passed along to someone else, otherwise. And, you may be able to convert these regulars to your new schedule when it's time to set one. Even though you should try to accept all appointments from reliable clients, it may be necessary to block out times that you cannot work. This time may be non-negotiable, regardless of how much a client might be willing to pay. For instance, if you want to be home to put your kids to bed every night, this part of the evening would be blocked out as completely unavailable. Otherwise, take bookings when they are requested until you feel you have a good number of clients.
  2. Ask clients for their input about ideal times for encounters. Many clients would prefer to meet an escort in the middle of the day, but they may be afraid to ask for that, assuming that escorts only take nighttime bookings. Talk to your clients as you establish relationships with them to determine the most desired times they would like to see you. Of course, these times may not work for you. Gaining the information, though, gives you a goal to work toward in order to establish a regular encounter with a client. Additionally, you gain some respect from your clients by asking for their opinions. Clients like to feel important, and letting them know you value their input may create a stronger bond between you and them.
  3. Track the demand for encounters. As you're establishing your client list, track all encounters you actually book and those that are requested. Whether you keep this information on a spreadsheet or on a calendar where you can visually see it isn't important. The important element to this step is that you obtain information about when the highest demand from clients occurs. Without even analyzing the information, it may become apparent quickly that Monday, for example, isn't a day that your clients request bookings. Once you have the information for client demand, you can utilize the data in different ways to establish a schedule.
  4. Analyze the data you collected about client demand. If you've inputted the information into a spreadsheet format, you may be able to automatically graph out different variables you think are important. If you've manually tracked information on a calendar, you may want to decipher the information into a format that indicates how many encounters were requested daily, by the hour and length of times. Create different charts that show busiest times, most requested days and when the best clients are wanting to meet up. Having this information at your fingertips may motivate you to adjust your desired schedule to sync with client requests.
  5. Calculate the earnings you would make with hypothetical schedules. Since you have the information, add up what you might make in any given week with various schedules. Pick a few days/times to work and figure up what your income would be. Realize that your calculations are only estimates and will fluctuate with swings in the economy and the time of year. For instance, fewer clients seek out escorts during January than they do other months of the year. Typically, spring time sees a boon in encounter numbers. Try to base your calculations on a conservative schedule to create realistic expectations.
  6. Determine black-out times for your schedule. Every escort has specific times or days of the week that she is unwilling to work. If you have a standing date with family on Sundays, make this a day that you will not consider putting into your schedule. Black-out times are non-negotiable and not on the table for consideration when you begin to put a schedule together. Even if the demand is high during your black-out times, you need to reserve some time for you. Taking care of yourself is even more important than taking good care of your clients. As long as you can pay your bills, don't give up something in your schedule that is dear to you for a few dollars.
  7. Create a schedule and take it on a test run. Using the information you compiled from tracking encounter requests, establish a reasonable schedule that should earn you enough income to pay your bills and that will still allow you some free time. You may not want to work five days per week, and that's fine, if you have the client demand on other days to compensate. Don't give up on a schedule if it doesn't seem to work after a few days or a week. You must give it a chance to work. Follow the schedule for a month and see what happens. Things may balance out. However, remember that your test schedule is a work in progress. The process to establish a schedule is a trial and error experience that may require several attempts to get it right.
  8. Go back to the drawing board with a new schedule. If your attempt at a schedule failed, don't sweat it. Use your data to rework your routine, adding a day or two or adjusting times you set aside to work. Implement the new schedule for at least two weeks before you abandon it. If you can see that it is failing miserably, scrap it and try something else. However, it if just needs some minor adjustments, work on it until it seems to function well for your lifestyle. Again, don't throw away a schedule until you've given it ample time to see if it will work (at LEAST two weeks, if not more). Humans are creatures of habit, and it's easy to quickly reject something that seems foreign. Allow yourself enough time to adjust to it.
  9. Advertise your schedule in your profile, on your website and in your advertising and marketing. Once you've settled on a schedule that you want to work with permanently, make it your standard. Inform clients clearly what days/times you will be available for encounters. Your hours and minimum encounter time should be obviously stated. When you put your work schedule out there, you are setting up expectations for clients to make their best attempts to work within your parameters. If clients ask for encounters that do not fit your scheduled working hours, inform them that you'd love to meet up with them during a time that you have available and encourage them to select another appointment. As you begin to adhere strictly to your schedule, discuss any changes with your regular clients. If a regular client is completely excluded by your new schedule, attempt to transition him to a new time or day. Perhaps, in order to keep him, it might be worth giving him a discount for the next couple of appointments, if he agrees to meet up at a new, convenient time.
  10. Know that you must be flexible to a point. Even though you shouldn't give in to clients who just want to meet up on a different day for the sake of being a challenge, you have to realize that your schedule is not rock-solid. Life doesn't happen according to your appointment book. There may be times that you have to cancel appointments, shuffle clients around or work on days that you would prefer not to. Keep in mind that if you work extra during the week for some reason, you may be able to compensate yourself by taking off some the next week. Once you have a consistent schedule in place, your routine will even out. You will have ebbs and flows that adjust the days or times you choose to work, but overall you can depend on a fairly consistent schedule, which definitely helps to bring order to your life.
While you're establishing your schedule for encounters, remember that you will need to expend some time on the business-side of your escort career. Marketing matters, paying bills and communicating with clients will take significant amounts of time. Blocks of time to deal with these matters must be booked into your days, too. As you advertise your schedule available for encounters, it's also smart to include times that you may be reachable for clients to set up appointments. This is especially important to put into your profile information on escort directory sites. If clients cannot reach you, they may assume that you aren't interested in talking to them and call another escort. However, if you have indicated when you are "on call", they have a better chance of being able to contact you. Enjoy one of the best benefits of being an escort: being able to set your own schedule. But be sure to do it with reason and good business sense.
